The theme of the Reserve Bank of Australia's conference in 2017 was ‘Monetary Policy and Financial Stability in a World of Low Interest Rates’. The conference brought together senior central bankers, regulators and academics to discuss the policy implications of the recent sustained period of low global interest rates.

The conference had three main sections: First, a focus on the historical experience of macroeconomic and financial cycles; second, investigating how policymakers responded; and third, examining what we can learn from the past and how the future should be different.
